Ben Simmons Came to Play

The reigning Rookie of the Year finished one assist away from a triple-double, posting 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 assists. With Embiid locked down, Simmons demonstrated elite playmaking ability and put the Sixers on his back, effectively guiding his home squad through their scorching third quarter.

Atlanta simply didn’t have anyone who could guard him. Even without possessing an ounce of a jump shot, and with his defender hanging in the paint, Simmons got whatever he wanted within ten feet of the rim.

Throughout the game, he used his athletic 6’10” frame to snag rebounds and put down dunks, while taking advantage of his next-level vision to find open cutters. Simmons also only turned it over twice despite having the offense run through him on nearly every possession.
