Both Teams Came Out Firing

Both Atlanta and Miami came out shooting the three early and often, and it was falling more often than not, especially for the Atlanta Hawks. Fans were still finding their seats when the Hawks knocked down their third triple of the night.

They shot 7-10 in total from distance through one quarter, well on their way to their season-high of 41 1st quarter points.

In an impressive showing of the “modern NBA,” three centers made a three, including the third-ever for Miami Heat big man Hassan Whiteside.

Overall the pace was as fast as the threes were falling. This is the kind of pace the Hawks can thrive in, and with Alex Len and Dewayne Dedmon both knocking down threes comfortably, the Hawks will have 5  shooters in at nearly point in the game.
