Vince Carter came off the bench tonight after starting each of the team’s previous 8 games. Lloyd Pierce might want to keep him in a sixth man-esque role after tonight’s performance off the pine.

The oldest player in the league saw 5 of his 7 attempts fall, matching his season-high of 12 points.

He was clutch down the stretch for the young Atlanta Hawks, hitting a beautiful fadeaway before clinching the game by forcing a Justice Winslow turnover on the other end.

No one was sure exactly what the 41-year-old would bring to the table in Atlanta, but it’s clear from nights like this one, that he still has plenty left in the tank for this young team.

The leadership is as advertised, and it’s clear that the younger Hawks have a deep respect for him. He might thrive in a lesser role like he got tonight, and the return of John Collins will only help that.

Oh, and he dunked. Half man, half amazing lives on in 2018.
