3rd Quarter Woes Continue

It appeared as if the Atlanta Hawks had placed the chains on Tim Hardaway Jr. early, as the former Hawk had just 7 points at halftime.

Kent Bazemore said in his halftime interview that he was taking his defending of Hardaway “personal”.

The Knick forward would have the last laugh, however. He went supernova in the 3rd period and kept the the visitors in the lead during a tight fourth, finishing with 34 points.

He got some help from the rookie from Arizona, Allonzo Trier, who had his second great game against the Hawks of the season, putting up 16 points and 4 rebounds.

The downfall of the Hawks proved to be, once again, an abysmal third quarter that saw them get outscored 35-18.

They rallied furiously in the final quarter, but the deficit proved to be too much to overcome.

In the loss, coach Lloyd Pierce rolled out some interesting lineups that included Young and Jeremy Lin on the floor at the same time, as well as both Len and Dedmon on at the same time. Pierce appears willing to continue to experiment to find what works at this early point in the season.
