The Atlanta Hawks nearly made a game of it in the waning minutes, but ended up falling to the shorthanded Golden State Warriors on the road 110-103.

Down an injured Steph Curry and a suspended Draymond Green,  the Golden State Warriors used a strong second half to win the second game of their back-to-back beating the Atlanta Hawks 110-103 at Oracle Arena.

The Atlanta Hawks fall to 3-11 with the loss, the third-worst mark in the NBA.

Sup, Zion.

It was a night to forget for the three Atlanta Hawks rookies, who combined for 6 points on 3-of-19 shooting.

Despite the poor performances from the rooks, the Hawks kept this game within reach due to some solid, balanced play all-around. They out-shot their two time defending champion opponent (44.9% to 42.9%) and generally played with a great deal of intensity and hustle, carrying their momentum from a close loss to the Los Angeles Lakers a night ago.

The most enjoyable moment? Well that would be Bob Rathbun quoting the poet Dylan Thomas while the Hawks were rallying from 15 down to pull within 5 in the final minutes.

“These Hawks will not go gentle into that good night!”

Enough Welsh verse, let’s get to some takeaways.
