The Atlanta Hawks are almost 1/5th of the way through the 2018-19 season. What have we learned about Atlanta’s professional basketball franchise through the team’s first 15 contests?

After 15 games, the Atlanta Hawks have a record of 3-12. While that is not the most savory of records in the NBA, the 2018-19 season was never going to be about immediate success for a team with a multitude of rookies and second-year players mixed with some more seasoned plays in “prove-it” years as well as some canny veterans brought in during the offseason.

Though many of the faces are new, such as NBA legend Vince Carter and beloved point guard Jeremy Lin, the main goal for the Atlanta Hawks this season was not winning games. The 2018-19 Atlanta Hawks season was more about setting a tone and building a culture for first-year head coach Lloyd Pierce (which he has seemingly done quite effectively) as well as discovering what players will be important building blocks going forward.

After 15 games, let’s take a look at some of the major themes of the season as well as the players that have made big impacts in the early portion of the year.
