Rapid Reaction to an Atlanta Hawks loss to the Toronto Raptors in which NBA legend Vince Carter reached the 25,000-point plateau.

The Atlanta Hawks dropped their ninth game in a row to the Toronto Raptors, falling by a final margin of 124  to 108.

The team again struggled to find an offensive rhythm the entire night and left a lot to be desired on the defensive side of the ball, but at least we got to see NBA great Vince Carter score his 25,000th point in an Atlanta Hawks jersey!

Carter needed 13 points coming into the game to reach the milestone and he did not disappoint.

He had 14 for the game and even in a loss he gave Hawks fans and NBA fans everywhere a reason to celebrate.

Trae Young had a forgettable game and, as usual, the rest of the team struggled alongside him. The Hawks continue to lack any sort of competence on the offensive side of the ball when Young isn’t on the court and also when he struggles while on it. I certainly have questions as to why he only played 22 minutes in the game and have questioned the way Lloyd Pierce has handled his minutes so far this season.

Jeremy Lin, on the other hand, continues to play well as the Atlanta Hawks backup point guard. Lin poured in 26 points and shot 11/13 from the field. He continues to show that he can play at a high level and will hopefully be a trade chip for the Hawks moving forward this season.

The rest of the team was almost a non-factor. The starters did virtually nothing together and struggled extremely hard to find an offensive flow.

While this was another ugly loss, this game will never be remembered for that. Tonight will always be Vince’s game where he reached a huge milestone.

Next. Could the Hawks Trade for Markelle Fultz?. dark

This is a very young team that is going to have ups and downs as the season moves on and there will be more nights like this, but at least we got to witness some history!
