A look at 5 team awards for the Atlanta Hawks at the quarter-season mark.
After 22 games played, the Atlanta Hawks sit at 5-17 on the season after a loss to the Charlotte Hornets on the road.
While the team has been fairly enjoyable to watch for the most part, their on-court product remains extremely fickle, as a young team like Atlanta’s is rarely able to produce consistent results on a night-to-night basis.
However, that does not discount some of the impressive performances of some of the team’s best players.
We delved into the team’s awards at the quarter-season mark, and all major categories are represented.
While many might’ve expected different players on this list before the start of the season, there have been a surfeit of surprises so far for the Atlanta Hawks in the 2018-19 season.
For one thing, the play of Taurean Prince has been difficult to watch. I believe that Prince is nursing a nagging injury after he took a hard fall and then a sprained ankle in back-to-back games, which is affecting what the crisp ballhandling and knock-down three-point shooting that Prince displayed last year.
So far, Prince is not living up to his preseason hype.
In addition, the Hawks were without their starting frontcourt from much of last season, Dewayne Dedmon and John Collins, for much of the season, but that hasn’t stopped JC in particular from picking up right where he left off. Speaking of Collins…
