Rapid reactions to 128-111 Atlanta Hawks home loss to the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors.

Tonight, the Atlanta Hawks got steamrolled by the defending champions. Needless to say, the team still had some bright moments in tonight’s game.

The Atlanta Hawks have the talent to put points up on the board. However, the team often times does a bit too much on the offensive side. At times it seemed as if the Southeast division team lacked urgency and detail (which is expected at times in a young team).

First Quarter Reaction

Looking at tonight’s matchup it’s obvious that the Atlanta Hawks roster resembles the Warriors roster. Steph Curry got off to a quick start scoring 18 points in the first quarter. Curry seemed to have found his shooting stroke after hitting a few threes.

Kevin Durant, on the other hand, scored in spurts as he played the role of the facilitator during tonight’s game. On the Hawks side, Vince Carter finished the first quarter with four points.

Trae Young had an okay night but struggled to gather a rhythm early on in the game. Ice Trae started to find success once he put his head down and attacked the rim.

Throughout the season the rookie has relied heavily on his shot. But tonight, both Young and the team realized the importance of ball movement. When the ball moves, the Hawks put themselves in a position to score easy buckets or receive open looks.

The Atlanta Hawks got out to a slow start and found themselves down by 17 in the first quarter.
