Atlanta Hawks: 3 Trade Targets on the Washington Wizards
The Atlanta Hawks have now lost three games in a row and sit at a record of 5-19. This marks the second year of the team’s rebuild.
Be that as it may, there are plenty of positives to take away from the Atlanta Hawks season thus far. In most games, the team has shown glimpses of what they might become in the future.
The Atlanta Hawks are seeing their younger players develop. Outside of Trae Young, the team has seen DeAndre’ Bembry elevate his game. Although the season is still young, Bembry has proven that he can become a reliable two-way player.
Obviously, he still has a long way to go, but the fact that he has improved considerably in his third season speaks volumes. The Hawks front office has also done a great job of clearing cap space and building a young core.
Atlanta’s first-year head coach Lloyd Pierce is doing a solid job of connecting to his players and establishing a culture and modern offensive system (despite their current record). Although this season is about par for the course for a rebuilding team, there are still plenty of moves that can be made.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported recently that the Washington Wizards were open to trade talks with any player on the team. This season has been tough for the Wizards, who are currently 10-14 on the season.
Washington entered the season with high expectations. Needless to say, this season has been the exact opposite for the franchise. Conversely, the Atlanta Hawks are on their way to the Zion Williamson sweepstakes.
However, the Hawks front office should consider trading for three players on the Wizards roster.
