Trade Benefits for the Wizards

Yes, trading Beal may not seem like a benefit for Washington. However, after recent reports and how the current season is panning out it may be time.

Washington will benefit from making this trade because they will move money off the books and prepare to pay Wall for the next five years.

Over the last few years, it has become clear that Wall and Beal can’t coexist on the court. Whether or not if the team decides to rebuild one of the two has got to be traded.

Beal is the most appealing player out of the two and the easiest to move financially. Even though the Wizards would lose a franchise player they would still have their star point guard. The team would also receive Lin, Bazemore and Taurean Prince.

Prince is an upcoming two-way guard who has the ability to be an elite perimeter defender and a solid scorer. Washington’s front office could use the forward to build around Wall. Since Wall isn’t the best three-point shooter the franchise can place spot up shooters around him.

Both Lin and Bazemore can help provide juice off the bench and veteran leadership. Sending Beal off to the ATL will provide Washington with younger players. This trade could also help the Wizards avoid hitting the restart button (for the time being).

Schlenk may want to keep his options open as he continues to move this franchise forward. The Atlanta Hawks just played a game against the Washington Wizards, so who knows how that game might affect these trade ideas.
