Bembry Career Night

Speaking of career-highs in scoring, DeAndre’ Bembry continues a terrific bounce-back season with an excellent performance against the Nuggets. Bembry poured in 18 points on a supremely efficient 6 of 9 shooting night with 5 assists, 3 rebounds, 3 blocks and 1 steal in 19 jam-packed minutes off the bench. On offense, Bembry’s jumper looked the best it ever has, as he hit 3 of his 4 deep tries of the game, all 3 of which were clean swishes.

Dorsey the Sparkplug

As has been discussed before, Tyler Dorsey seems well-suited to the role of sixth man gunner a la Lou Williams or Jamal Crawford. Though Dorsey currently lacks the feel of those two veteran masters of the bench scorer role, his efforts in this game off the bench were certainly laudable. Dorsey played 15 minutes, putting up 7 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal and a +7 box plus/minus. TD’s impact was felt early, as he hit a flawless triple off the catch, then took one to the rack for an easy dunk. With Taurean Prince injured, Dorsey (and others) will likely be getting 15-20 minutes a game, so let’s hope he cements his place in Lloyd Pierce’s rotation going forward.
