Domination of the Frontcourt

The Hawks exploited the Wizards’ frontcourt depth all night. Len, Collins and Dedmon caused confusion for the Wizards on the defensive end.

Collins started off a bit slow but turned it on in the fourth quarter. Collins grabbed 13 boards in tonight’s game. Dedmon finished the game with 10 rebounds.

Pierce did an excellent job running the medium pick-and-roll which gave the Hawks the ability to roll to the rim or catch and shoot. In addition to the pick-and-roll, Len dominated with his back to the basket and cleaning up on the offensive glass, which created second-chance points.

Dedmon provided some momentum with some thunderous dunks, which hyped up the home crowd. Washington did not have an answer for the Hawks lanky frontcourt. Dedmon finished the game shooting 83.3 percent from the field.

In order for this young Hawks team to grow, they need to continue to go down low and run the pick-and-roll for easy points.
