Wednesday night the Atlanta Hawks received a lump of coal from the Grinch as the team’s three-game winning streak was snapped. Let’s take a look at a few rapid reactions from tonight’s loss post-Christmas Day.

The Atlanta Hawks three-game winning streak was snapped at home to the Indiana Pacers as they lost 129-121 at home. Although, Atlanta is expected to finish toward the bottom of the east they showed glimpses of greatness tonight.

In the first quarter, Atlanta jumped out to a 12-3 lead over the Pacers due to their high level of energy. Tonight the Hawks clamped down on defense for most of the night and did a great job of switching. Once again John Collins impacted the game with his high motor.

Collins crashed the boards and over the course of a double-double performance exposed the Pacers frontcourt. Indiana runs a lot of high pick and roll with Victor Oladipo, however, which can be a tough cover.

However, the Atlanta Hawks did a good job of fighting through screens and switching. Tonight ATL got off to a quick start which helped with their energy. Throughout the game, Atlanta did a good job of pushing the pace and playing with urgency.
