Atlanta is Not The Weakest Link
Clearly, tonight’s loss may be a celebration for some Atlanta Hawks fans as they imagine Zion Williamson in Atlanta.
Although, tonight ended in a loss, this year’s Hawks team is not the worst team in the NBA. First-year head coach Lloyd Pierce has his team playing hard almost every night. Over the course of the season, Pierce has shifted the culture and solidified a few lineups.
Every night Atlanta has a chance to stay in the game or win against any team they face. This year’s roster is loaded with young and exciting depth with a sprinkle of veteran leadership.
Tonight Atlanta had five players that finished the game in double-digits. Collins (21), Bazemore (32) Dewayne Dedmon (18), Trae Young (17) and Jeremy Lin (12) all scored more than 10 points.
The fact that four out of the five starters scored double figures is huge for this team. Regardless of the loss, the younger players are developing and learning how to win.
Tonight’s loss sinks the Atlanta Hawks to a 9-24 record. In the second year of the team’s rebuild they are getting a solid contribution from all of their rookies and second and third year players.
Friday night the Atlanta Hawks will take on the Minnesota Timberwolves on the road at 8:00 p.m. EST.
