Young Continues Efficient Scoring Streak

Even though Young’s final shot attempt was blocked, he had yet another supremely efficient day scoring the ball, and he even piled up a career-high of 3 steals, as he sprinted back in transition and played the passing lanes beautifully.

This was Young’s best three-point shooting day in a long time, as he notched 4 of 6 shooting from long range, and all of his makes were seemingly in rhythm and clean looks.

Beyond that, his passing remains unreal – even though in this game he actually produced more turnovers (8) than assists (7). That is definitely the first time that happened, and many of those can be blamed on receiver fumbles. Many of his assists were highlight-reel worthy, as this one attests:

Trae Young will be just fine, and I can’t wait to see what he delivers in 2019.

Huerter Career-High (and Big-Time Highlight)

Kevin Huerter (aka Red Pepper) had the best game of his young career. Not only did he drop 22 points in 39 minutes played, but he scorched the nets with a sterling clip from long-range (6 of 9). He also delivered the best highlight of his career, a ferocious slam after a beautiful pump-fake from deep:

If you’ll notice, even the Pacers bench couldn’t help but flinch slightly after that immense jam. Re-watch it and look — it’s well worth it.

Huerter is one of the brightest young stars on an Atlanta Hawks team that is littered with first round talent, and it will be fun to see Huerter truly come into his own as his career continues.
