Atlanta Hawks: 4 Young Players to Take a Chance On
By Dallin Duffy
Jordan Bell
Jordan Bell got a pretty nice gig as a rookie last season, joining a loaded Warriors team that had already won 2 of the past 3 Finals. He played well for the most part, providing high-energy defense and highlight reel dunks.
However, this season Bell has been underwhelming for the center-needy Dubs. He is averaging just around 10 minutes a game while being thoroughly out-played by Kevon Looney.
With Demarcus Cousins’ return from injury creeping closer and closer, and rumors that the Warriors are looking to add center help at the deadline, Bell could be on the block come February.
The 2017 2nd-round pick has potential to develop into a elite rim protector and enough athleticism to fit in nicely with John Collins in Atlanta.
He’s definitely still rough around the edges, but Golden State is in a obvious win-now scenario and might not want to wait that out. If they decide to move on from the high-flying sophomore, there’ll be a long line of teams willing to take a chance on the raw center.
