When the final buzzer sounded, the Brooklyn Nets had won their 13th game in the last 17 tries, embracing their mantle as the East’s hottest team. This team could be headed for a playoff spot–a remarkable possibility considering where this franchise has been since the disastrous trade with Boston back in 2014.

More importantly to the Hawks, Dewayne Dedmon continued to improve his stellar trade stock after another solid game. The lengthy big man was a menace on the defensive end in the first half, tallying 4 blocks. He hit 2 three’s and nabbed 5 rebounds as well. Ya love to see it.

Speaking of stellar trade stock, Jeremy Lin shows no signs of slowing down. Title contenders in need of a quality backup 1 should be tripping over themselves while racing past GM Travis Schlenk’s “Garage Sale” sign.

Lin posted 16 points in 28 minutes after recording 20 points and 9 assists last night against the Raptors.

Noteworthy Nugs

  • John Collins recorded his 15th double-double of the last 18 games
  • Vince Carter caught a ‘bow to the face and wasn’t happy about it, but it was cool to see Brooklyn honor the former Net with a tribute video that played during a second quarter timeout
  • The Hawks shot 6-of-35 from behind the arc. Boo.
  • Daniel Hamilton got some significant playing time off the bench and scored 2 points to go with 4 boards, but we didn’t see any Omari Spellman or Justin Anderson.

All in all, another entertaining game (over the first three quarters) and another mile marker passed on the Road of the Tank. May our spirits and our position on the 2019 draft board both continue to rise.

Next. For the Hawks, It's Time to Make a Trade. dark

The Atlanta Hawks finish out their three game road trip by taking on the Philadelphia 76ers in Philly this Friday night.
