Three recent Atlanta Hawks trades that were featured on the terrific Hardwood Knocks podcast.

The Atlanta Hawks are currently being mentioned in a myriad of trade rumors, and with good reason. The Hawks have numerous players, both veteran and younger, that would make for solid additions to other teams around the league.

Three trades were recently explored by the dynamic duo on the Hardwood Knocks podcast, hosted by Dan Favale of Bleacher Report and NBA Math and Andrew Bailey of SLC Dunk.

The first two were extremely similar and were three-team deals involving the Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers. The final one was a simple maneuver between the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks. Let’s take a look at the deals.

First, there’s the two three-team deals. Here’s the one I personally prefer:

Now, here’s the second iteration, which gives the Atlanta Hawks more draft picks going forward.

Both of these deals work out well for the Atlanta Hawks. Though Markelle Fultz has been the apple of this writer’s eye for some time now, both deals would be transactional victories for the Atlanta Hawks, especially if the team were able to finagle three draft picks (one first rounder and two seconds) in the second iteration of this deal.

Beyond that, in both iterations the team gets a flyer on Justin Patton, who just returned to NBA G-League action after being out for injury for almost all of his first two seasons in the NBA.

Here’s the final trade idea:

This is a fairly simple concept that fulfills a need for both teams. The Milwaukee Bucks get an excellent bench option of Dewayne Dedmon for Splash Mountain, Brook Lopez, and the Atlanta Hawks get a flyer on Thon Maker, who recently requested a trade due to a lack of playing time.

The Hawks could definitely provide him with that, as the team will need a new option at center without Dedmon to anchor the middle.
