The greatest player in Atlanta Hawks history, Dominique Wilkins, has announced plans to release a new collaboration craft beer with Atlanta’s SweetWater Brewing Company.

Though the Atlanta Hawks have long been overshadowed by the biggest stories in the NBA and the big-market name brands around the league, the team has a great history headlined by one of the most exciting players in NBA history: Dominique Wilkins.

‘Nique was a walking dunk machine, a guaranteed bucket-getter and an inspirational Atlanta Hawks player.

His nickname of The Human Highlight Film perfectly encapsulates his above-the-rim dunking exploits. So do these highlights:

Though ‘Nique was inexplicably traded during the 1993-94 season – a move that some fans have never forgiven the franchise for (understandably) – his impact on the Atlanta Hawks franchise, and Atlanta in general, cannot be overstated.

Now, his greatest achievement has finally arrived. Despite nine All-Star appearances, seven All-NBA nods, the 1985-86 scoring title and a Hall of Fame induction in 2006, Dominique Wilkins is getting his own beer.

That’s right, Wilkins announced recently that his collaboration beer with SweetWater Brewing Company in Atlanta is being released this Friday at 6 p.m. EST.

The beer is fittingly called Human Highlight IPA and features artwork with an outline of Nique dunking as well as his number (21) and a similar design to the iconic late 1980s and early 1990s Hawks jerseys that he made famous.

SweetWater Brewing Company is the biggest craft brewery in the state of Georgia and also ranks as the 15th largest craft brewery in the United States according to the Brewers Association. Famed for its flavorful IPAs, SweetWater and The Human Highlight Film will make for an enticing combo this weekend.

Tickets for this event are available here, and Dominique will be on hand from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday to help launch the new beer.
