6. Cliff Hagan, Small Forward, 1957-66

Cliff Hagan was well-known back in the early days of the St. Louis Hawks history for his ability to score at will. Hagan was a member of the Hawks only NBA Championship squad, winning one alongside Bob Pettit during the 1958 NBA Playoffs.

The Hawks enjoyed a dynamic dose of Hagan and Pettit as each brought their only dimension to the hardwood.

Hagan made five straight All-Star appearances (1957-62) with St. Louis following their run to the championship. He averaged a career-high 24.8 points per game during the 1959-60 season, showing that at his peak, he could score with the best. That year, he finished the regular season ranked fifth in scoring.

He was named All-NBA second team from 1957-59 for his contributions on the floor. When his career with the Hawks came to a close, he managed to record one game with 50 points or more, 10 games with 40 points or more and 93 games with 30 points or more.

Hagan put up a career-high 55 points in a 129-109 victory over the Cincinnati Royals back on Feb. 11, 1962. He was 19-of-39 (48.7 percent) from the floor in the game, showing off his ability to remain effective despite volume.

Hagan remains fourth in points (13,447) in franchise history and field goals made (5,239) and recorded 18.0 points per contest through 792 games with the Hawks. He was inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame in 1978 after his contributions with St. Louis.
