5. Joe Johnson, Guard, 2006-12

Joe Johnson was one of the best scoring guards in Hawks history during his tenure and he had his fair share of All-Star appearances to show for it. He made six appearances in the All-Star game while a member of the Hawks, though he began his career with the Boston Celtics.

He made the first All-Star appearance of his career during the 2006-07 season, where he put up a career-high 25.0 points per game. In the 2005-06 season, he put up a career-high 42 points on 14-of-27 shooting (51.9 percent) from the field against the Golden State Warriors in a 113-106 victory.

Johnson produced six games with 40 points or more and 78 games with 30 points or more. He is one of only seven players with more than six 40+ point games and ranks seventh in franchise history with 30+ point games.

He is a member of the Hawks’ 10,000-point club, with 10,606 career points in a uniform. He ranks sixth all-time in franchise history in total points and eighth in field goals made (4,030).  Johnson also ranks second in franchise history in 3-pointers made with 908. Through seven seasons, Johnson averaged 20.9 points on 44.9 percent shooting from the floor and 36.3 percent shooting from behind the arc.

Atlanta was the most productive stop of Johnson’s journeyman career. He didn’t achieve a whole lot after being traded to the Brooklyn Nets. His name will be one to revisit when it comes time to retire numbers.
