1. Dominique Wilkins, 1983-94

Dominique Wilkins was more than a dunker during his tenure with the Atlanta Hawks. He was dubbed “The Human Highlight Reel” for a reason, as he torched numerous records and placed himself in franchise lore as the best scorer to wear a uniform.

Through his 12-year career with the Hawks, Wilkins made nine All-Star appearances, seven All-NBA squads and took home the 1985-86 scoring title, averaging 30.3 points per game, currently a franchise record as well.

In his 882 games, Wilkins produced 320 games with 30 points or more, 54 games with 40 points or more and seven games with 50 points or more. He is the current leader with the most 30-plus, 40-plus and 50-plus scoring games in franchise history.

Wilkins scored a career-high 57 points twice during his career with the Hawks, which is also a tie for their franchise record. He put up 57 points on 21-of-37 (56.8 percent) shooting on April 10, 1986, then repeated the achievement the following season on Dec. 10 on 19-of-28 (67.9 percent) shooting from the floor.

Both contests ended in victory for Wilkins, showing off his ability as more than just a dunker. He’s currently the franchise leader in career points with 23,292 points. He also holds the title of most field goals made with 8,752.

His 26.4 points per contest career average is also tied for first with Hall of Fame forward Bob Pettit. The No. 21 jersey has been retired by the Hawks and a statue has since been made in his honor. Wilkins holds the title as best scorer, but there’s definitely some new blood on his heels.
