Three is a crowd

Over the last couple of games, Pierce has played Trae Young, Kevin Huerter and Kent Bazemore in the starting lineup together.

Playing Young, Huerter and Bazemore together may be a result of the departure of Jeremy Lin who is now in Toronto. Granted the Atlanta Hawks had to move on from Lin but the absences of the veteran guard has affected Atlanta.

Losing Lin puts a strain on the Hawks bench and the versatility of the rotation. On the other hand, placing Bazemore in the starting lineup with Huerter and Young helps this team at the beginning of games.

Throughout the season the Atlanta Hawks often struggle to get out to fast starts. However, with three guards on the court, the Hawks become faster and more athletic.

Huerter (13), Bazemore (18) and Young (14) finished with double digits in scoring in tonight’s loss against the Heat.

This season may be filled with many ups and downs but the Atlanta Hawks are growing up right before our eyes.
