We Was Hot, They Was Not

This is an Atlanta Hawks blog, where we talk Atlanta Hawks things–but one of the biggest stories post-All Star Break has been the inability of the 76ers to play to the level of the talent on their roster.

On paper, this team is stacked. But en realidad, it’s not working out.

Yes, they didn’t have Joel Embiid tonight, but with Ben Simmons, Jimmy Butler, Tobias Harris, and J.J. Redick all out on the court together, this team still trailed the tanking Hawks for a majority of the game. For a team with championship aspirations, that’s frightening.

Philly looked lost defensively–slow on rotations and lacking in effort. This team is in the thick of the playoff-seed hunt, but sure didn’t play like it tonight.

On the FLIP side, the home team Hawks didn’t make anything easy for them. Even surefire dunks were being turned aside.

And, as they have all season, the young Hawks were putting the ball in the bucket like nobody’s business. Man, is this team fun to watch on the offensive end.
