Despite never leading in the game, and trailing by as much as 17, the Atlanta Hawks still managed to make it close in the final minutes of a loss to the East-leading Milwaukee Bucks.

Alex Len decided to go thousand-exploding-suns supernova on the Milwaukee Bucks, but Mike Budenholzer’s squad still withstood the Atlanta Hawks’ late rally to get their 60th win of the season 115-107.

The Hawks were without their two best players, Trae Young and John Collins, and yet still managed to put up a respectable showing against the top team in the East.

This is truly a great result for the young Hawks–they add a loss to their record, further solidifying their 5th-best position in the draft lottery odds, while building confidence in the non Young-Collins players on the roster.

Those two guys get most of the headlines, and deservedly so, but there’s more reason for optimism with this team than just that duo.

Let’s take a look at some observations from this game with only one more Atlanta Hawks contest on the schedule.
