#20. Boston Celtics (via LA Clippers) – Tyler Herro
With their third pick in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft (must be nice), the Boston Celtics will able to employ the Los Angeles Clippers first-round pick to select Tyler Herro out of Kentucky.
Herro rose up draft boards all season, finally culminating in a clutch Sweet 16 game-winner against Houston:
Herro produced some strong numbers in his freshman campaign, such as 14 points per game, 4.5 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists per game and 1.1 steals per contest. Though he only shot 35 percent from deep, his shooting form is nearly flawless, and he did produce a 58 percent true shooting percentage thanks to a nearly automatic 93.5 percent clip at the free throw line.
The Celtics will be able to pretty much do whatever they want with their glut of first round picks in this draft, and, who knows, many of these picks might be going elsewhere in a potential deal for a superstar.
Either way, the selection of Herro will guarantee that the Celtics are selecting a player that is nothing if not “a bucket.”
