#5. New York Knicks – Cam Reddish

This is an absolute nightmare scenario for the New York Knicks in this simulation.

Though the team, for the first time in forever, actually properly tanked during the 2018-19 season by losing a whopping 65 games, their reward in this scenario is only the 5th overall pick – an unmitigated disaster.

However, the team must still make a choice here. With Kevin Durant likely incoming via free agency (unless he decides to go to the Atlanta Hawks), just what direction would the Knicks go here?

Perhaps the Knicks would go for the headlines by selecting big college name Cam Reddish, who was the widely vaunted 2nd overall recruit in the 2019 draft class.

Though he was blown out of the water by the brilliance of Zion Williamson and the less-brilliant but similarly effective game of R.J. Barrett, Reddish still showed a ton of flashes in his freshman.

His stats might have been rather meager, he has good size and a beautiful shooting stroke that should be quite portable to the next level.

While the real prize for the Knicks will most likely come via free agency or trade, Reddish is an excellent consolation prize for a long-suffering Knicks fanbase.
