Iman Shumpert

Iman Shumpert of the Houston Rockets has taken the minutes from Danuel House (who we’ll get to later). Though House was an extremely important part of the Rockets throughout the season, he has looked like a young fawn on a frozen lake so far against the Warriors, so his minutes have been subsumed by the more playoff-hardened Shumpert.

Shumpert won an NBA Championship as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers on the fateful team that came back from down 3 games to 1. Shump played 17.5 minutes per game that season in the playoffs for the Cavs and shot 38.2 percent from deep in that span.

This year, Shump has not rediscovered his form from three years ago, as the only thing he’s really providing for Houston is a warm wing body to throw at the lethal weapons that the Warriors have.

However, Shump would likely make for a  good fit on the Atlanta Hawks due to his strong play with the more youthful Sacramento Kings earlier in the season as well as a willingness to spot up from downtown – which is a definite priority of this Hawks squad.
