Jordan Bell

We have long been enamored with Jordan Bell here at SDS, and once again, his name comes up in a story of players that the Atlanta Hawks should at least ponder in free agency this offseason.

An athletic marvel with impressive defensive skills, Bell has been known to be left out in the cold of Warriors head coach Steve Kerr’s rotation due to some lapses in concentration, as well as a penchant for producing spicy plays such as this one that Kerr was not a huge fan of:

Though Bell is actually older than his teammate Looney (despite being in the league for 2 less years), Bell is still a young player due to his 2018 NBA Draft pedigree and lack of consistent playing time in a championship-or-bust scenario in Golden State.

Were Bell to be signed by the Atlanta Hawks, his athletic gifts could be put to good use as a small-ball center or a high-impact, energetic bench big.

In order to truly reach his potential, Bell would have to at least pretend to shoot threes, as that is a prerequisite for any Atlanta Hawks big man these days. It seems likely that Bell will not return with the Warriors, so that means a team like Atlanta could reap the benefits of player that was never really given a fair shake in an extremely win-now franchise.
