#12. Charlotte Hornets — Bol Bol

Perhaps the most tantalizing non-Zion prospect is spindly 7-foot-2 center Bol Bol out of Oregon. No player in this class combines the striking, feathery touch of a knockdown shooter with otherworldly shot-blocking skills like Bol does, and the Charlotte Hornets could benefit from a player like Bol with the 12th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

Though Bol has been linked to the Atlanta Hawks of late (even in our most recent mock draft), but in this scenario, the Hawks opt for the more traditional big man with more athleticism – though Bol’s physical traits are likely more enticing.

Bol stands 7-foot-2 with a stunning 7-foot-8 wingspan, as well as the NBA pedigree of being the son of NBA icon Manute Bol (the tallest player in NBA history at 7-foot-7, a number that could be tied after this season with Tacko Fall).

Unlike Fall, Bol has a beautiful jumper and amazing touch around the basket, as well as tremendous shot-blocking instincts that allow him to catch both rim attempts and jumpers with his terrific reach.

Beyond that, Bol is something of a deer in headlights on defense as he can often get lost in space and allow wide open cuts to the rim due to him not being in position. With a likely rebuild on the way if Kemba Walker is traded, the Hornets could pair Bol with Miles Bridges in the frontcourt alongside Malik Monk and Devonte’ Graham in the backcourt in the team’s young core.
