A look at three relatively realistic trades the Atlanta Hawks could make with the #8 and #10 overall picks after the 2019 NBA Draft Lottery.

The 2019 NBA Draft Lottery came and went, and left Atlanta Hawks fans with a bittersweet taste in their mouths.

Yes the 8th pick was practically the worst-case outcome for the Atlanta Hawks season, and not exactly a great return for a mere 29 wins. On the other hand, they did get the Mavs pick, as that fell out of the top 5, down to 10.

Atlanta now has two top-ten picks to add to their already revered young core. Travis Schlenk has hit .1000 in his first two years drafting, and while there is no reason to doubt he’d bring two new studs to the ATL, it’s still worth speculating trade scenarios.

It has been rumored for a while now that the Hawks may package both of their picks for higher picks or a more proven talent, and while the trade package did take a hit when the pick fell to 8, it’s still a very viable option. Schlenk himself mentioned the possibility of packaging picks to move up after the lottery:

It’s certainly worth thinking about, and here we’ll take a look at 3 potential packages the Hawks could get in return for putting the picks together.
