Fletcher Magee, Late Second Round/Undrafted

Last but certainly not least is Fletcher Magee of Wofford. Magee helped lead the Wofford Terriers to a 7 seed in the NCAA Tournament, and the team was riding an insane 20-game winning streak when they started the tournament against Seton Hall.

Though they would not be able to get past an ascendant Kentucky squad, Magee and Wofford acquitted themselves well as a Southern Conference juggernaut.

The engine of the team was the wild shooting of Magee, who finished 52nd in percentage of team shots per KenPom at 31.1 percent. The majority of those shots came from beyond the arc, as Magee completed his senior season with a mammoth 73.5 percent three-point attempt rate per Sports Reference.

Overall, across four seasons at Wofford, Magee shot 43.5 percent from deep on 8.7 attempts per game. In his senior year, those numbers were 41.9 percent shooting from deep with an insane 10.8 attempts per contest. Bonkers!

The thing about Magee’s shooting is that he is known for taking – and making – shots that would be deemed as “bad looks.” Magee thrives on off-balance shots in which his body contorts and corkscrews through the air; he moves like a slippery ballerina and his shots often look as if he’s throwing up a prayer with little chance of going in but then… swish.

In the NCAA 2018-19 regular season, Magee attempted an immense 346 triples, and he shot better than the three players ahead of him in terms of percentage to boot at 40.5 percent per Bart Torvik.

Magee, like Guy and Windler, could often be seen careening all over the court in order to try and get open for a catch-and-shoot look from downtown, though it must be noted that Magee was actually assisted on his triples 74.3 percent of the time – which is the lowest of any of the other three players on this list.
