Offense

Clarke is a high-flier, as we’ve already established. Getting him the ball around the paint with a little bit of breathing room usually ended in a Gonzaga dunk.

Clarke was a vacuum on the offensive glass this past season, and put-back jams like the one above were a common occurrence in Zag games.

However, the big guy also demonstrated some quality feel for post moves and handled the ball when he needed to. He’s got a good hook shot, and while he mostly stayed within 10 feet of the basket, could knock down some mid-range jumpers as well.

He doesn’t really have a three-point stroke, going 4-for-15 from behind the arc in his lone season in Spokane. However, John Collins didn’t really have range before he got to Atlanta either, and yet he’s become adequate at making long-balls when called upon.

Where Clarke would really improve the Atlanta Hawks is in the transition game. The guy runs hard, has a phenomenal sense of where he’s supposed to be as sequences play out, and usually finds himself in the right position to punctuate a possession.
