Re-Signing Vince Carter

While this transaction might not move the needle for most Atlanta Hawks fans, SDS has long been vocal in its support of Vince Carter on the team, so seeing him re-up for his final season in the NBA was nothing short of a joy.

Though some players in the Big3, such as former All-Star Gilbert Arenas, believe that Carter will take minutes away from younger players, the simple fact is that his presence on the court will actually serve as a player-coaching role that most rookies and sophomore could never experience.

That the advice and in-game coaching will be coming from the longest-tenured player in NBA history, who will have played in four different decades when he suits up in 2020 is sure to be invaluable.

Beyond the mentorship and leadership that Carter will provide, he actually still has plenty left in the tank to help a young Atlanta Hawks squad potentially make the playoffs for the first time.

Also, the 2019-20 Hawks will be the beneficiary of plenty of goodwill that will be coming Vince’s way on his farewell tour, which should garner plenty of attention around the league.
