#3. Kevin Huerter

Now we’re getting into the most important players for the Atlanta Hawks going forward. The third-best player on the team heading into the 2019-20 season is Kevin Huerter.

According to BBall Index’s Luck-Adjusted On/Off Ratings, Huerter was one of the few Hawks players that was a positive presence on both offense and defense last season, and he actually finished top 50 in BBall Index’s overall net rating metric – ahead of notable players such as Devin Booker, Khris Middleton, De’Aaron Fox, Kemba Walker, Donovan Mitchell, Chris Paul, Andre Iguodala and Eric Gordon.

Not only did Huerter player over 2000 minutes in his rookie season (leading to an All-Rookie Second Team appearance for the Maryland alum), but his efficiency differential per Cleaning the Glass of +6.6 was second only to John Collins on the Hawks, showcasing a low-usage all-around impact that should lead to a long and fruitful career with the Atlanta Hawks.

Despite a terrific rookie campaign, Red Pepper still has plenty of area to improve, which makes his future all the brighter with this team going forward.

Still though, just in terms of next season, expect Big Huert to immediately come into the season as one of the best players on the team – other than our next two entries, of course.
