De’Andre Hunter

Though De’Andre Hunter committed three of the Atlanta Hawks whopping 29 turnovers against the Pelicans, he looked quite good in his professional debut for the home team. The 21-year-old dropped 10 points on 4 of 6 shooting (including 2 of 4 from deep).

Beyond his offensive exploits, Hunter fully looked the part of the Hawks’ best defender in limited action, cutting off driving lanes and generally blanketing his mark on the perimeter. The Hawks are terrible defensively, but Hunter most certainly is not a part of that poor play.

The Hawks will have to work on defense in order to reach a collective level that matches Hunter’s singular skills on the less glamorous end.

Josh Magette

He’s back! Former Atlanta Hawks Two-Way player in 2017-18, Josh Magette, is back in action with the Orlando Magic as a Two-Way player himself. Magette, who lacks typical NBA athleticism and size, has some of the best feel around and is also a brilliant passer. Since it’s preseason, Magette will likely play a fair portion of minutes compared to the regular season. Though another player on this list is sure to vacuum up most of the backup point guard minutes, it will be good to see Magette back with another NBA team after his stint with Atlanta two seasons ago.
