Bruno Fernando

Last but not least for the Atlanta Hawks is Bruno Fernando, who only played 12 minutes in the Hawks’ opening preseason loss to the Pels. Though Fernando was mostly relegated to garbage time excursions, it was rather clear that he was far superior to the players around him during that period.

Fernando only logged 3 points, but he also had 3 blocks, 2 rebounds and an assist, showcasing some heady play on both ends of the floor. Though still raw, Fernando is one of the most tantalizing talents on the roster along with his fellow rookie Cam Reddish.

One glimpse at this highlight will show you why:

Markelle Fultz

Perhaps the most exciting player to NBA fans in general in this game is former #1 overall pick Markelle Fultz. Fultz has had a difficult time of it to start his career, as he was feted as the “final piece” of the Process-era 76ers – a moniker that came with extremely lofty expectations that seemingly obliterated Fultz’s mental state.

Though thoracic outlet syndrome was ultimately to blame, calls of “the yips” still somehow have the ring of truth to them. However, now with a new team, Fultz looked quite sharp in his first preseason game with the Magic, finishing with 8 points, 7 assists and 4 rebounds in 21 minutes. No matter how he looks, it should be interesting.
