The Atlanta Hawks faced off against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday and fell by a final margin of 97 to 88. Read on to delve into some takeaways from the game for the home team.

The Atlanta Hawks got powerfully pummeled by the New Orleans Pelicans in the team’s first preseason game on Monday, but they bounced back to fight hard in their second tilt against the Orlando Magic.

Though they came up short, the effort seemed far better and they were executing more – on defense at least – than they were against the Pellies.

On a night in which the Atlanta Braves produced a comically poor performance in Game 5 of the NLDS (a favorite place to lose for the team for the past, oh, 15 seasons), the Hawks were far more competitive against Orlando in the preseason.

Though the team once again poured in the turnovers (27 in total) and fouls (23 in total), they truly competed hard on defense, which has been a key area of concern for the past two seasons, and some of the young players continue to look more comfortable in the NBA.

Read on to explore the good, the bad and the ugly from the Atlanta Hawks in the second game of the preseason.
