Updating the status of Atlanta Hawks’ shooting guard Kevin Huerter.

Atlanta Hawks’ sophomore stud Kevin Huerter hasn’t played since November 12th, but that could change soon.

The shooting guard joined the Hawks’ broadcast team of Bob Rathbun and Dominique Wilkins during Friday night’s loss and discussed a few things, including pranking rookie center Bruno Fernando:

More importantly, Red Velvet provided an update on his injury, telling the crew that he’s aiming to reutrn after this road trip.

Well, good news Hawks fan: The road trip ends tonight.

Yes, after the Hawks’ romp in Houston, the team returns home for 2 games, against the Warriors on December 2nd, and against the Nets on the 4th.

Huerter’s initial timetable was 4-5 weeks, and if he’s able to play in either of those 2 above games, he’d actually only miss 3 weeks.

A return next week is likely the 2nd year guard looking a bit on the glass-half-full side of things, but we might as well join him over there.

Getting Huerter back would be huge for a struggling Hawks team, and it’s no coincidence that they haven’t won since the night he was injured.

Obviously he would have to be eased back into the lineup, just like how he was as he recovered from a knee injury early on this season.

Before injury, Kev was averaging 9.3 points per game, making 38% of his deep shots, which are both on par with last year’s numbers.

Next. Atlanta Hawks' Stock up, Stock down. dark

He was just starting to heat up before the incident, averaging 14.7 points on 46% shooting in the three games prior.

The news of a potential early return is welcome for sure, and we all hope to see the former 19th overall pick out there draining threes sooner than later.
