Atlanta Hawks’ Top 5 Players of the Decade
By Dallin Duffy
2. Paul Millsap
Paul Millsap was signed away from the Jazz during free agency in 2013, and went on to spend four seasons with the Hawks.
In those four years, Millsap made the All-Star game all four times, forming a lethal frontcourt duo with Al Horford.
Specifically, Millsap averaged 17.4 points, 8.3 boards per game, and showed his defense prowess with 1.7 steals and 1.2 blocks per game during his time in a Hawks uniform. He managed a spot on the ’15-’16 All-defensive team as well.
Millsap’s biggest strength was his consistency. He wouldn’t have those 50-point, 20-rebound nights, but he would also never go out and lay an egg.
He was as dependable as they come, and his tough defense and floor-spacing offense really made him a treat to watch.
He is undoubtedly the biggest free agent singing of the Hawks’ decade, and their 2nd best player.
