Finding the three major takeaways from the Atlanta Hawks’ win over the Clippers.
Despite being without their All-Star point guard Trae Young, and being down by 21 points, the Atlanta Hawks found a way to beat the Los Angeles Clippers Wednesday night by a score of 102-95.
Granted, L.A was without key contributors like Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, amongst others, but it was still a great win for the shorthanded Hawks.
John Collins led scorers with 33, nearly reaching his career high of 35. He also had 16 rebounds – nine of which were off the offensive boards.
Brandon Goodwin, who went scoreless in the first three quarter, exploded in the final 12 minutes to put up 19 points, most of which came in key moments. He gave the Hawks the lead with a bucket, and delivered the dagger with just seconds left as well.
Rookie Bruno Fernando had his second straight good game, scoring just six points but added nine rebounds, two steals and two blocks in 18 minutes.
It was one of the Hawks’ most entertaining games on the season, and the team is starting to heat up a bit, now winning three of their last five.
Here, we’ll be taking a look at three of the biggest takeaways from the comeback victory.
