Taking a look at how NBA2K20 predicts the rest of the Atlanta Hawks’ season play out.

There is a lot of excitement surrounding the Atlanta Hawks right now, despite their 14-39 record. They addressed their biggest needs in a big way at the Trade Deadline, acquiring centers Clint Capela, Dewayne Dedmon and Skal Labissière.

Many Hawks fans are looking forward to seeing those three in action throughout the final half of the season, and while none of us can see into the future, one thing can: NBA 2K20.

The popular basketball simulation game has a “Start Today” feature in it’s Franchise mode, which after started I simulated the rest of the season. The results are below.

The Hawks finished 26-56, going 12-17 down the stretch. There was a good run by  Atlanta, who won five out of six in late February to early March. Late in the season however, they undid that nice stretch with a bad one, losing five of six this time.

The 26 wins were a slight step down from the 29 they earned last season, and was tied for the league’s 2nd worst record. They finished 12 games behind the eighth-seeded Nets for a playoff bid.

Both Dewayne Dedmon and De’Andre Hunter missed the last few weeks of the season with injuries, although according to 2K, Dedmon wasn’t cracking the rotation much at all before the injury.

For what it’s worth, the Bucks met the Clippers in the Finals, with coach Bud and Giannis bringing home the title in six games.

On the next page, we’ll be digging deep into the statistics and accolades the Hawks delivered, including someone popping up on an All-NBA team.
