Scouting Report. 25. 27. Pick Analysis. PF, Florida State. New York Knicks (via Clippers). Patrick Williams. player

It’s been a bit of a joke how many power forwards the Knicks have brought in lately, but with the trading of Marcus Morris (to receive this pick), they have room to add another.

Williams is a fun talent out of Florida State, another who’ll still be just 18 on Draft night. His numbers don’t impress on a glance, and whichever team drafts him will be doing so based on potential.

Williams has great size at 6’8 and carries a 7-foot wingspan. He’s shown this as a defender and paint scorer this season, but has failed to do much of anything on the boards. His per-36 average of 6.2 rebounds is going to jump off the page — in a bad way.

He does have stretch forward potential, and his jumper needs more polishing than an entire re-working. Williams is an athletic freak, and could be someone who rises up draft boards late after the combine and private workouts.
