Full Two-Round NBA Mock Draft Pre-March Madness
By Dallin Duffy
Edwards is at the top of most big boards across the web, but with the Warriors being more than set at guard, he slides to the Cavs here.
They’d be getting one of the most dynamic scorers in the nation with the pick, much-need for a Cavs team who averaged the 5th fewest points per game. Edwards is consistently asked to create his own shot on a lackluster Georgia team, and does so with NBA-like moves. The efficiency could be higher (41 FG%) and that should come with time and a lesser usage rate. His pull-up jumper from mid-range needs to go unless he perfects it.
His explosive upside will always be as a wing scorer, but his defense has improved since season’s start. He looks comfortable bring the ball up and could be a secondary ball-handler on a NBA team.
He’ll still be just 18 on Draft Night, and would be a nice fit alongside Cleveland’s already very young roster. Edwards could slide to the three spot to play alongside Collin Sexton and Darius Garland as well.
