#2 – 97 Christian Laettner

The newest card on this list, Laettner was added just this past weekend in 2K’s ‘Campus Legends’ set, obviously honoring his time with Duke. Although never transitioning fully into a superstar at the next level, he did have some good seasons with the Hawks, making the All-Star team with them in 1997.

This 97 overall Laettner is a great two-way center, who can get buckets on one end and block them on the other. He’s incredibly fun to use in the post with his post hook and post fade ratings both being at 98.

His 89 interior defense is good, and his perimeter defense of 80 is very good for the 6’11 center/forward. Laettner’s offensive and defensive rebound ratings both sit at 93, which are good but not fantastic.

He comes with 28 hall of fame badges, more than anyone on this list besides the #1 spot. Highlights of those badges include Deep Hooks, Putback boss, Corner Specialist (to go along with his 96 three-point rating), Tireless Scorer, Dream Shake, Quick Draw and Deadeye.

As a new release, it’s hard to say where he’ll settle at, but if you like to score in the post, Laettner could be worth breaking the bank for.
