3 Best John Collins’ Performances This Season For the Atlanta Hawks
By Dallin Duffy
#1 – February 22nd v Mavericks
The wild game that’s now known for the final sequence that resulted in the Mavericks protesting the final score, the Hawks were victorious thanks in large part to John Collins.
JC got out to a hot start in this one, scoring seven of Atlanta’s first 15 points, doing his best to keep the Hawks in it as the Mavs got out to a hot start.

Like he did in the game versus the Knicks, Collins slowed a bit after a hot start and finished with just 14 second-half points after 21 in the first.
The Hawks were down nine entering the final quarter but quickly got back into it with a nice run, which included some great play from Collins as well as Cam Reddish.
Collins hit both free throws after being fouled with just over a minute left to play, giving the Hawks a firm three-point lead, then hit the clutch tip-in that was the cause of the Mavs’ protest.
Defensively, Collins added two blocks and a steal, turning in his eighth-best game of the season in terms of defensive rating.
