2. Maurice Harkless

Maurice Harkless is a great three and D wing, currently in the prime of his career. Harkless is still only 26 years old and is capable of providing above-average three-point shooting and elite perimeter defense in the right situation. However, most recently, Harkless hasn’t been in the ideal situation. On both the LA Clippers and the New York Knicks the team didnt have the adequate role for him, but a team like the Hawks could be perfect.

Harkless would be great coming off the bench for the Hawks. He’s not good enough to start over Cam Reddish or De’Andre Hunter but he would be a perfect complement to them in a bench role. In his best season with the Portland Trailblazers, Mo Harkless was able to shoot 41.5 percent from behind the three-point line while providing elite perimeter defense. If this is something Harkless could replicate in Atlanta, that would be incredibly helpful in the Hawks playoff pursuit.

For his career, Harkless only averages 7.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game, however, as I mentioned, he’s still only 26 years old and has proven to be an impact player in the past. In a one-year prove-it deal, Harkless could be a good piece for the Hawks, especially if his addition is accompanied by a guy like the aforementioned Kent Bazemore. You can never have too many three and D wings coming off your bench.
