12. player. 84. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. SG, NZ Breakers. Sacramento Kings. RJ Hampton

The Kings are trending in the right direction, and are missing just one piece to push them over the edge and finally break their 14-year playoff drought. RJ Hampton, who decided to play in Australia’s NBL instead of the NCAA could be that piece.

Perhaps due to him playing just 15 games with the NZ Breakers, Hampton’s draft range is quite large. He’s a darkhorse top-five pick, but could even fall out of the lottery. Like Cole Anthony above, any team that drafts him will be doing so on the potential he showed in high school alone.

He averaged 32.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.9 steals and 6.4 assists per game as a junior before deciding to forgo his senior season at Little Elm High School. In his short time in the NBL, he averaged 8.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and nearly as many turnovers (1.5) as assists (2.4).

In Sacramento, he’d be able to spend some time on the bench behind De’Aaron Fox and Buddy Hield and develop his game.
