The Pelicans have a roster full of young talent and hitting on this pick would be a bonus, but not a necessity. Saddiq Bey can come in and be an instant contributor for New Orleans, who hope to make the playoffs next season.

Bey is a fantastic three-point sniper, making over 45 percent of his 5.6 deep attempts per game as a sophomore. At 6’8, Bey is not afraid to shoot over smaller guards and often drained threes without his feet being set.

At the moment, he brings his perimeter scoring and not much else to the table, but there’s always room for improvement. He has the athleticism and size combo that could let him be a serviceable defender down the road.

E’Twaun Moore is headed to free agency this summer, and the Pelicans can fill his bench role right away with Bey.
